Fine art prints, Original art and Colourful art gifts by Tina Maher, watercolour Artist living in Townsville Australia.

Painting the places and pieces that we hold dear to our hearts..

Hand drawn and carefully painted to capture those special moments and memories we hold close, illustrations are created to become thoughtful keepsakes for years to come. It could be a vintage camera, favourite childhood toy or a place in nature that is special. Let’s work together to create something special for you and your loved ones.

Just a girl with busy hands…

Making and creating since I was very young was a way to keep those hands (and mind) busy with little treasures I had lovingly created for family and friends. I realised that my creations would bring a smile to families faces, so I set about to put more happy art out into the world that could add a little sunshine in someones day, because after all, we could all do with more sunshine.

Thoughtful gift giving made easy..

Original Paintings

Hand drawn and painted illustrations using watercolour and gouache, tiny brushes and attention to details!

Behind the scenes as I create in my garden studio.

Drawing and painting with pencils and watercolours are a great way to relax. Sketchbooks are a favourite way to work on small pieces that are not overwhelming to create in, after all it is only one page ! They are great to travel with as they come in small handy sizes that fit in a small bag along with a few pencils and you are ready to go.

My Favourite Supplies..

Here are some of my favourite art supplies…. of course you don’t need them all to be able to get creative… you just need to start !

  1. Pencils: Hb pencil or clutch pencils. If you like you can add a few coloured pencils to your kit for fun !

  2. Watercolour Paper : Hot or cold press (I prefer the smooth surface of hot press)

  3. Watercolour Paints : Student grade are fine to start with, you’ll want a small set with both warm and cool colours so you can mix your own. Over time you will want to pick up a few good quality paint tubes to try.

  4. Paint Brushes : I prefer round, synthetic NEEF brand with a nice point in a few sizes, no4,no6, no8 will get you started.

  5. Water Dish ; A clean jar works a treat, I have two on the go at once, one for cleaning brushes and one for mixing and adding to fresh paint.

  6. Paper Towel ; or a clean dry cloth to wipe your brush on to remove excess water.

  7. Palette : A simple white china plate will work for this. Watercolour can be re wet and used again later. The plate makes for easy clean up too.

I hope you find this helpful !
